Make an Army Red VS Blue Gates and Paths Guide

Pick the right lane every split and multiply your army before Red vs Blue combat.

Gates and Paths

Every run in Make an Army Red VS Blue lives or dies at the gates. UH Games Offical built a path-picker runner where left and right splits lead to different bonuses—multipliers, flat unit adds, coins, gems, or sometimes penalties disguised as rewards. Choosing the correct gate grows your squad into an army; choosing the wrong way still finishes the run but leaves you underpowered for Red vs Blue arena fights.

This guide teaches how to read gate labels, plan routes before you sprint, and coordinate with up to four friends in online multiplayer. Pair it with How to Play for the full loop and Better Army Guide for spending the power you earn here.

How splits work

Your character auto-runs forward. At each fork you steer into one lane. The gate at the end applies its effect instantly—x2 soldiers, +10 units, coin burst, gem shard, armor crate, and similar. There is rarely a confirmation button; crossing the threshold commits you.

React one split early. Momentum and latency on mobile make last-second swaps unreliable. Controls covers dead zones and stick sensitivity so your inputs match your intent.

Reading gate labels

Most gates show an icon plus a number. Learn these families:

  • Multipliers (x2, x3): Best when you already have a baseline count. Empty hands make x2 still small.
  • Flat adds (+5, +10): Strong at run start before multipliers online.
  • Coins and gems: Economic gates—take them when combat is stable; skip when you are desperate for raw count.
  • Weapon or armor crates: Mid-run power spikes; weaker than multiplication early unless a boss is imminent.

Trap routes look like correct gates but pay less—similar color, smaller number, or “?” markers. When unsure, follow a teammate who finished the stage or replay once to scout.

Route planning by run phase

Phase 1 — Opening three splits: Prioritize flat adds then first multiplier. Goal: reach double digits before the first shop.

Phase 2 — Mid run: Alternate multiplier with one coin gate per two splits if upgrades lag—see Coins and Gems. Insert one weapon gate before the first mini-boss if adds spawn.

Phase 3 — Pre-boss: Maximize multiplier or armor crate depending on your last wipe. If Beat Bosses notes add waves for Pharaoh or Emperor, favor area damage gates if they appear.

Write a personal route script after each failure: “Split 2 left, split 3 right for x2.” Simulation genre repetition makes muscle memory more valuable than one perfect theory run.

Wrong ways and recovery

The experience description warns to avoid wrong ways—not every bad path is zero value, but opportunity cost hurts. If you mis-click, continue unless the run is competitive for badges. Banking knowledge beats resetting unless the game offers a free restart at the hub.

Recovery tactics after a bad gate:

  • Take the next two multipliers even if coin-starved.
  • Delay luxury shop buys one station.
  • Skip optional PvP side arenas until the next run.

Co-op callouts

With five players max, teams often stack on one lane and waste parallel gates. Call compass directions or colors: “Left x3, right coins.” Designate a caller for the first ten splits while others practice mechanics.

If the experience splits parties down different lanes, sync in voice before boss portals so everyone arrives with comparable counts—otherwise one player carries and four learn nothing.

Gates versus upgrades

Gates set ceiling; shops set floor. A perfect path with zero armor still collapses in arena. After nailing a high-mult route once, shift one gate per run toward coin or crate lanes until Better Army Guide spend targets are met.

Beta balance watch

Early access patches can rebalance multipliers overnight. After /updates/ notes, rerun your scripted route once in a private server if available. Universe ID 10404766693 tracks the live place even when labels change.

Practice drill

  1. Solo run: only flat adds and multipliers—record final count.
  2. Solo run: add one coin gate every third split—record shop purchasing power.
  3. Co-op run: caller reads every label aloud—compare arena time.
  4. Boss run: swap one mid gate for armor crate—compare boss HP remaining.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers players ask before every match.

What happens if I pick the wrong path?

You still finish the run but usually gain fewer units or currency. Rarely a path applies a penalty—learn labels to avoid those splits.

Are multiplier gates always best?

Not at zero units. Take flat adds early, then multipliers once you have a baseline count to scale.

How do I practice paths without wasting time?

Run opening splits until consistent, then extend one segment per session. Write a split cheat sheet after each wipe.

Do Red and Blue teams get different gates?

Teams share the same gate types; lane layout may mirror for PvP fairness. Color does not change multiplier math.

Can gates change after updates?

Yes. Beta patches can rebalance values. Re-scout after major updates listed on the wiki updates hub.
